I painted the chillies and mushrooms from life as an exercise in still life to train my eye rather than painting from a photograph. The result was rather pleasing and I won a Highly Commended at the local show for this painting. It has a companion piece “Apples and Pears” of the same size and the two would look great as a pair on a wall.
